WWE NXT Talent Missed Months Of TV Due To 'Freak Accident'

'Freak accident' leads to injury for WWE NXT talent

While they are no longer injured, Fightful Select's Corey Brennan has reported that Eddy Thorpe missed months of TV due to a hip injury that he suffered in a "freak accident."

Thorpe hasn't appeared on WWE NXT TV on Tuesday nights since December 2023 when he defeated Dijak in their NXT Underground Match. There was no announcement in the weeks following the match that Thorpe was dealing with an injury. Following the "freak accident", Thorpe was not cleared to return to the ring until late February or early March.

Thorpe has yet to resurface on NXT TV despite being cleared to return but Fightful noted that Thorpe is expected to return to the Tuesday night show in the near future. Thorpe has been utilised on NXT Level Up and at NXT house shows during his time off NXT TV proper.

Thorpe suffered from injuries in 2023, including sustaining an unknown injury in October of last year. He then worked hurt leading into NXT Deadline, a show which saw him return to cost Dijak the Iron Survivor Challenge.

Eddy Thorpe has been a part of WWE since signing with the company in January 2023. He was previously a part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling for four years but he exited the promotion in the Summer of 2022 when his contract expired.

WWE taped the May 21 episode of NXT earlier this week. Check out full spoilers here.
