WWE have quietly scrapped a title match planned for tonight's episode of SmackDown from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton was originally booked as a Women's United States Championship match, but the contest has been quietly switched to a non-title match in the latest preview of SmackDown on WWE.com.

"Will SmackDown be Tiffy's Time, or is it time for Giulia to reaffirm her dominance? Women’s United States Champion Giulia is set to clash with former WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton in an explosive non-title showdown on The Road to WrestleMania," WWE wrote.

There is no word as of the time of writing about why WWE decided to quietly change Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton to a non-title match. It is the second time WWE have cancelled a title match this week, though, following The Usos vs. The Vision's Logan Paul and Austin Theory on Monday Night Raw being changed to a non-title clash. This was reportedly done as WWE wanted The Usos to appear with the World Tag Team Championships at the New York Yankees vs. San Francisco Giants game on MLB Opening Day.

The expectation is the current issues between Giulia and Tiffany Stratton will lead to a Women's United States Championship match at WrestleMania, as this was reportedly planned for WWE's biggest weekend of the year as of February.
