WWE have officially announced an upcoming tour of Japan, with three shows set for July in Osaka and Tokyo.

The mini-tour will mark WWE’s first shows in Japan since 2019, with advertising material promoting appearances from Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, IYO SKY, Asuka, and Kairi Sane.

Dubbed the ‘Supershow Summer Tour’, three house shows will take place, with the first stop coming at Osaka’s Edion Arena on July 25, followed by two nights in Tokyo’s Sumo Hall on July 26 and July 27. The tour was hinted at in early April.

WWE’s 2019 mini-tour saw the promotion run two nights at Sumo Hall, featuring Triple H’s last ever matches. ‘The Game’ teamed with former Bullet Club members AJ Styles and The Good Brothers against Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, and Samoa Joe on night one, then Triple H teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat Samoa Joe and Robert Roode on night two.

The ‘sports entertainment’ behemoth have ran house show tours in Japan since 1994, with only the 2015 Beast in the East show having ever been televised. The COVID-19 outbreak in late 2019/early 2020 put a halt to WWE’s international touring schedule for a while, with Japan’s COVID prevention measures staying in place for longer than those of other countries the WWE tours.
