WWE have long had a strict code when it comes to certain words that the promotion won't permit in promos and interviews from their talent.

Insider terms such as 'heel' and 'babyface' have long been banned by Vince McMahon, while the WWE Chairman's own dislike for words like 'belt' have seen them also added to the ever-growing list of forbidden expressions.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the banned words list in WWE has been updated.

WWE superstars who were promoting WrestleMania 37 earlier this year given the following list of terms to avoid in any of their interviews ahead of the 'Showcase Of The Immortals' In Tampa.

"Blood, choke, belt, strap, diva, head shot, trauma, kayfabe, Mofos, house show, DQ, The Anti-Diva, spinal injuries, victim, violence, violent, wrestling, wrestlers, WWF, wifebeater, curb stomp, babyface, heel, job, jobber, card, strangle, kill and murder.

It was also noted that any phrase that included the word 'push' or 'being over' is also not permitted by the promotion.
