There wasn't universal support for WWE signing Danhausen

While there was certainly support for Danhausen within WWE, hence the company signing him, the 'Very Nice, Very Evil' wrestler also had his detractors.

Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE bringing Danhausen in was "not a unanimous decision."

"People pushed for him. There were people who didn't want him. It was not a unanimous decision or anything like that. I would guess that the people who didn't want him are thinking like, 'Hmm, sure didn't work out so well this time.' But time will tell. He'll get another chance," Meltzer said.

Danhausen made his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber as he emerged from the box which had appeared on Raw and SmackDown in recent weeks. Danhausen initially received a pop inside the United Center but fan reception to the debut quickly turned to silence and then boos. The debut was quietly compared to The Gobbledy Gooker's at Survivor Series 1990 within WWE.

Danhausen will have plenty of time to recover from his debut, though. BodySlam has reported the former AEW talent put pen to paper on a multi-year deal with WWE. There was interest from WWE in signing Danhausen in July of 2025, but AEW added time to his contract.
