WWE taped next week's episode of SmackDown after Friday night's live broadcast in Chicago, due to the holiday weekend. The following spoilers were made available by F4WOnline.

* Raquel Rodriguez won a gauntlet match to become number one contender to Ronda Rousey's SmackDown Women's title. Xia Li won the first two matches by beating Emma and Tegan Nox, before losing to Rodriguez. Rodriguez then won consecutive matches over Liv Morgan and Sonya Deville to seemingly win, but was confronted by "surprise" entrant Shayna Baszler. Rodriguez defeated her as well.
* Bray Wyatt cut a promo saying that LA Knight owes him an apology after the Uncle Howdy reveal. Wyatt then attacked the cameraman.
* Rey Mysterio defeated Angel of Los Lotharios. Karrion Kross and Scarlett watched from the crowd.
* Roman Reigns and The Bloodline cut a promo on Reigns and Sami Zayn's match with John Cena and Kevin Owens on the December 30 SmackDown. Solo Sikoa vs. Sheamus was also added to that show.
* Undisputed Tag Team champions The Usos retained over Hit Row.
* Braun Strowman and Ricochet defeated Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci in a "Miracle on 34th Street" fight. Ricochet apparently bled during the match. The New Day made a cameo dressed as "nutcrackers".
