WWE Star Reveals He Almost Vomited During Infamous Angle

There was almost vomit all over the ringside area on WWE SmackDown following this infamous angle

One of the most infamous angles in WWE SmackDown history took place back on December 6, 2019.

On the episode in question, Roman Reigns secured a win over Dolph Ziggler but WWE's top star ended up being taken out, at which point he was handcuffed to the ring post and covered in dog food by Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler.

WWE used real dog food for the angle and the smell was so bad it almost made Baron Corbin vomit, he revealed in response to a tweet about the angle.

"That legit almost made me vomit. It smelled so so bad," Corbin wrote.

The segment was roundly panned following the show and it was so bad in Roman Reigns' eyes that it ultimately led to him returning to WWE in the summer of 2020 as The Tribal Chief with Paul Heyman.

Heyman told Rick Rubin's Tetragrammaton podcast earlier this year about Reigns' mindset during his time off in 2020:

"I'm still there as Executive Director. Roman Reigns has taken time off with his condition. He's not exposing himself to this pandemic that we don't have a grasp on how severe it can be quite just yet and at the same time, he's had enough of the creative. These things are running concurrently. The story with Baron Corbin over dog food and the infamous sufferin succotash promo had weighed on him enough to where he said, 'I've had enough. I've reached the cap. I can't go any further. As the big dog I've peaked. and as an athlete, I haven't peaked as a performer. I've barely scratched the surface. I have so much more to offer and since I'm taking time off, I'm not coming back as the same person.'"

The rest is history and Roman Reigns is the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, having held the Universal Title for three and a half years. Baron Corbin, meanwhile, has enjoyed success of his own and he is currently a part of NXT.
