WWE-UFC Merger Expected To Be Completed On Tuesday, September 12

The WWE-UFC merger is almost complete

In a press release today, Endeavor and WWE announced they expect the WWE-UFC merger to be completed on Tuesday, September 12. This will lead to the creation of TKO Group Holdings.

The press release reads: "Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc. and World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. today announced they expect to close the previously announced transaction to form TKO Group Holdings, Inc. on September 12, 2023, at which time TKO will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol 'TKO'."

It was announced back on Monday, April 3 following WrestleMania 39 that WWE had been sold to Endeavor. TKO Group Holdings will be headed up by Ari Emanuel as CEO, while Vince McMahon will be Executive Chairman of TKO. Nick Khan will become WWE President, moving from his role as WWE CEO.

The sale of WWE came after Vince McMahon forced his way back into WWE in January 2023 and put the organisation up for sale. McMahon had previously stepped down as CEO and Chairman of WWE amid a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal in the Summer of 2022. McMahon is still under investigation over the undeclared payments he allegedly made and a search warrant was executed against McMahon in July of 2023. McMahon is currently on medical leave following back surgery.
