Powerhouse Hobbs Back On The Road With AEW

Powerhouse Hobbs returns to the road with AEW

Powerhouse Hobbs is back on the road with All Elite Wrestling, prompting hopes that the former TNT Champion could soon be cleared to make an in-ring return.

Hobbs has been out of action since April after suffering a ‘significant injury’, but was recently backstage at an AEW Dynamite taping to meet with doctors. An update from Fightful Select suggests that Hobbs has resumed road activities with the promotion, and was also backstage at All Out in Chicago on September 5.

It’s believed that Hobbs injured his knee during an IWGP World Heavyweight Championship clash with Jon Moxley on the April 24 edition of AEW Dynamite, with Hobbs promising to ‘bring Hell’ with him when he returns to AEW. It’s believed the injury was significant enough that it required surgery.

The Callis Family member has been with AEW since 2020, debuting for the promotion in July 2020 before joining Ricky Starks and Brian Cage in Team Taz.

Hobbs is just one of several notable absences in AEW’s men’s roster, with Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, and Adam Copeland also on the shelf with long-term injury woes.
