Report: AEW Talents "Close To Their Breaking Point" Due To Backstage Drama

All is apparently not right in the AEW locker room

With the news that CM Punk and Hangman Page reportedly have backstage heat in AEW, it turns out this could just be the tip of the iceberg.

A report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that there is currently a ‘ton of backstage drama’ in AEW, allegedly involving many of the top guys. Emotions are so high that Meltzer states that ‘it feels like a number of people are close to their breaking point if things don’t get settled’.

It’s believed the catalyst for all these recent problems is Colt Cabana, with Cabana believed to have been headed for an AEW exit before numerous members of the locker room spoke up for him, leading to Tony Khan signing him up for Ring Of Honor. Cabana and Punk’s complicated past is no secret, and with Cabana and Hangman having been stablemates in the Dark Order it’s easy to see how things could have snowballed.

Reports had earlier surfaced suggesting the AEW locker room was split following Punk going off script to bash Hangman on the August 17 edition of AEW Dynamite. Meltzer suggested that Tony Khan simply needs to ‘sit everyone down and air everything out before it gets worse’.
