Report: Kenny Omega Not Close To In-Ring Return
We’ll have to wait a little longer until we see Kenny Omega wrestle again
It’s been over six months since we last saw Kenny Omega wrestle, and despite recent reports stating ‘The Cleaner’ has been working behind the scenes at AEW tapings, it is being reported that Omega is not yet close to an in-ring return.
Omega has been out of action since November after dropping the AEW World Championship to Hangman Page, before taking time off to undergo surgery and rehab several injuries. Despite rumblings that omega could be close to a return, Dave Meltzer has poured cold water on this with a report in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“The Young Bucks also teased that when Kenny Omega is healthy he would return and face Vikingo. There isn’t even close to a date set for Omega to return, but the third TripleMania isn’t until October and if Omega is healthy this was a match he personally asked for and it’s really because of Omega in a roundabout way that Vikingo is champion to begin with,” reported Meltzer.
Vikingo won the vacant AAA Mega Championship after Omega vacated the title at the tail end of 2021.
