Report: Several NJPW Wrestlers Unhappy About Marty Scurll's Involvement At Recent Tapings

Scurll taped a post-match angle with Rocky Romero back in January

Reports noted yesterday that Marty Scurll will no longer appear on NJPW Strong, nor will he feature on any New Japan Pro-Wrestling programming "for the foreseeable future."

This comes after the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion attended the most recent NJPW Strong tapings on January 22, 2021, and was involved in a post-match angle with Rocky Romero. New Japan was immediately placed under scrutiny after news of Scurll's involvement at the tapings broke.

Fans weren't the only people unhappy about the former Bullet Club member's involvement at the tapings. A report from Fightful Select noted several members of the NJPW Strong roster "weren't thrilled" about Scurll being at the tapings. The wrestlers also said they would have told NJPW they didn't want to work the tapings if they had been informed about Scurll's involvement in advance.

Prior to his appearance at the NJPW Strong tapings, Scurll had been a member of the Ring Of Honor roster but he and the promotion agreed to part ways after he was implicated in the Speaking Out movement.
