Team AEW Wins Blood & Guts 2024

Victory for Team AEW in Blood & Guts after Darby Allin threatens to set Jack Perry on fire

All Elite Wrestling held their fourth Blood & Guts match inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on the Wednesday, July 24 episode of Dynamite as Team AEW of Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, and The Acclaimed took on The Elite of The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, and Hangman Page.

While The Elite had enjoyed the upper hand in recent months, they were not the winners inside Blood & Guts. The finish saw Jack Perry while handcuffed to the cage be doused in gasoline by Darby Allin. Darby then threatened to set Perry on fire unless he agreed to a TNT Title match at All In. The former Jungle Boy spat in Allin's face but Matthew Jackson eventually agreed to the match, fearing Jack Perry was going to be killed on live TV.

Darby Allin only continued to threaten to set Jack Perry on fire, though, unless Matthew Jackson agreed to say "I quit", which he ultimately did to save his faction mate.

Blood & Guts was a typically violent affair, featuring Anthony Bowens falling through a pile of tables on the outside after he used scissors to open up Jack Perry, Darby Allin hitting a Coffin Drop while hanging from the cage ceiling, The Elite taking turns to staple Swerve Strickland, and Jack Perry taking a chair shot straight to the head, among many other spots.

The feud between Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland also reignited as Hangman initially managed to handcuff Swerve to the outside of the cage, with the AEW World Champion only managing to free himself following interference from Jeff Jarrett and Billy Gunn. Swerve and Hangman then circled each other after Strickland entered the ring and such is their hatred they later spilled out of the ring and up the ramp, falling off the stage together in the closing stages of the match.
