WWE & Vince McMahon Mentioned During Donald Trump Trial

Vince McMahon and WWE mentioned during trial of Donald Trump

The trial of former United States President Donald Trump continues this week, with Trump remanded in court as part of a hush money scandal.

On day 13 of the trial, former adult entertainment actress Stormy Daniels testified against Trump, with Daniels mentioning WWE and Vince McMahon as part of her statement. Daniels is alleged to have received a hush-money settlement from Trump after an affair between the two prior to Trump’s time in office.

Whilst on the stand, Daniels mentioned that she ‘really wanted’ to ask Trump about pro wrestling, referring to Trump’s friendship with then WWE owner Vince McMahon, and their ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ angle heading into WrestleMania 23 in 2007.

Daniels laughed whilst on the stand when comparing the pro wrestling and adult film industries, saying "it's real but it's not."

McMahon and Trump have been friends for decades, with Trump Plaza in Atlantic City hosting WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V in 1988 and 1989 respectively. Trump was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

Vince McMahon is also at the centre of a hush money scandal, with the former WWE owner having been sued by former employee Janel Grant over several assault claims whilst employed by McMahon and WWE.
