Darius Martin Returns On AEW Dynamite
The Top Flight star was out for 13 months
Heading into this week’s edition of Dynamite, there was a space left open in the Casino Tag Team Battle Royal for the final place in the AEW World Tag Team Championship three way at Revolution.
The empty space was eventually filled by Top Flight, as Darius Martin returned after 13 months to reunite with younger brother Dante Martin. The team nearly went the whole way, with Darius the last eliminated from the bout, with Matt Jackson getting the win, with some assistance from ReDRagon.
Darius Martin last wrestled on AEW TV on February 18 2021, when Top Flight defeated Fuego del Sol and Jon Cruz on AEW Dark. Top Flight would then wrestle two matches on the Indies before Darius tore his ACL.Darius underwent ACL surgery on April 22 2021, whilst Dante became a fan favourite in AEW due to a strong singes run.
Whilst Top Flight won’t be in the title match at Revolution, 2022 could still be a banner year for the young team.
