The fallout from Bound For Glory
IMPACT was still in shock following the ending of Bound For Glory last weekend, when Moose Called His Shot on new IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander, and flattened him with the spear to take the gold.
Moose himself was feeling dominant as he opened IMPACT, calling out seemingly every name in professional wrestling after fending off a furious Eddie Edwards. Eddie was out looking for revenge on Josh Alexander’s behalf, but Alexander let his own fists do the talking, as he pounded away on Moose before the champ escaped.
Unfortunately for Alexander, his day went from bad to worse as he angered none other than Minoru Suzuki, with The King of PANCRASE insulted by Alexander turning his back on him. The two beat seven bells out of one another until security separated them. Later in the night, Matt Cardona and Eddie Edwards would complain about Moose’s conduct to Scott D’Amore, who announced the pair would team with Josh Alexander against Moose and two partners of his choosing next week. Moose picked W. Morrissey and Minoru Suzuki, and that is bound to be a manic affair.
With the forbidden door open for Suzuki’s arrival, NJPW’s Rocky Romero once again made his presence felt, becoming the first challenger to new X Division Champion Trey Miguel. To no-one’s surprise, the two put on a great match, with Miguel in particular looking fired up, setting a marker as the X Division’s new standard bearer. After a hard fought battle, Miguel retained the gold following a brainbuster and Meteora, but celebrations were cut short as Steve Maclin attacked Miguel.
Mickie James was in the house, as the new Knockouts Champion celebrated her victory over Deonna Purrazzo. It wasn’t long until Madison Rayne made her presence felt, criticising Mickie and challenging her on next week’s IMPACT. James accepted, and after being insulted by Kaleb with a K, slapped the taste out of his mouth.
Heath returned to singles action, taking on former Triple Crown winner, VBD’s imposing Joe Doering. Despite Heath’s best efforts it was not his night, as Doering beat on Heath without mercy until it broke down into an all out brawl involving VBD and Rhino, and the ref threw the match out as a no contest. A fully healthy Eric Young still has somewhat of a hold over Rhino, as the Man Beast hesitated to strike down his former leader, allowing VBD to decimate him and Heath.
Elsewhere: Rachel Ellering def. Tasha Steelz - could we have a new feud in the Knockouts Tag Division? Speaking of which, Gia Miller was rebuffed by Knockouts Tag Champs The IInspiration. The Good Brothers were in a fine mood after retaining their tag titles, and told FinJuice they’d have to earn another title shot. Chris Sabin and Ace Austin had a great match to close the show, with Austin emerging victorious .And The Demon was welcomed into the fold by Decay as the former KISS man had an altercation with Johnny Swinger.
