Report: Warner Bros. Discovery Banned AEW From Holding A Jay Briscoe Tribute Episode Of Dynamite

AEW weren't allowed to have a Jay Briscoe tribute episode of Dynamite

Warner Bros. Discovery banned All Elite Wrestling from holding a Jay Briscoe tribute episode of Dynamite on January 18, similar to the Brodie Lee Celebration of Life show, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio

Instead, Ring of Honor taped a tribute show for Briscoe following tapings of Dynamite and Rampage on Wednesday night in Fresno, California. The company are also planning to honour the two-time ROH World Champion when Ring of Honor resume their weekly TV show and at Supercard of Honor.

"There was a graphic at the start of the show (Dynamite) and at the very end of the show there was a mention by Excalibur. A lot of the guys had armbands, a lot of them, but there was not any kind of big tribute because they were not allowed by WarnerMedia (Warner Bros. Discovery) to do one," Meltzer said.

"They filmed a one-hour show in Fresno tonight that will be on HonorClub. They will be doing another tribute show. When they finally do the Ring of Honor television show, the first show will feature a lot of Jay matches and the tribute show will as well when it's all put together. At Supercard of Honor there will also be kind of a memorial to Jay or something to honour Jay."

The first Jay Briscoe tribute show will air for free on HonorClub and will be uploaded to the promotion's YouTube channel. When the ROH weekly TV show will resume is currently unknown.

Warner Bros. Discovery banned The Briscoes from appearing on AEW TV due to Jay's homophobic comments from 2013. Briscoe apologised for his comments on multiple occasions and again earlier this year. Several from the LGBTQ+ community paid tribute to the 13-time ROH World Tag Team Champion following his passing.

Briscoe passed away on January 17 following a car accident
