Police Reveal Details About Fatal Car Crash Involving Jay Briscoe

More on Jay Briscoe's passing

Following his passing on January 17, Delaware State Police have released a statement about the fatal car accident involving Jay Briscoe (Jamin Pugh).

Police noted that a fatal accident occurred in Laurel, Delaware at approximately 5:09 pm on January 17. Briscoe was travelling eastbound on Laurel Road in his pickup truck when another pickup truck in the vicinity travelling westbound suddenly crossed over into his lane, causing a head-on collision.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, 27-year-old Lillyanne Ternahan, and Jay Briscoe were pronounced dead at the scene following the collision. It was noted that Briscoe was not wearing a seatbelt. Ternahan was but still passed away.

Briscoe's two daughters, aged 9 and 12, were both in the car and were "properly restrained." They were taken to a local hospital following the incident in critical condition.

It is unknown if alcohol played a role in the collision. Police have appealed for any witnesses to reach out.

Briscoe's wife Ashley Pugh posted on Facebook today that one of her daughters was being taken to surgery as her legs were not moving. The second daughter had serious injuries but was stable and resting.

Pugh wrote: "We need prayers! Gracie is on her way into surgery on her back. Jamin would want the whole world praying for his little girl. WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER!! Pray for the doctors and everyone working on her! Pray for her precious legs to move again! Pray for Jayleigh who has some pretty serious injuries, but is stable and resting! Pray for Gannon waiting at home! Pray for strength for all of us! We have a long long road ahead of us!"
