Mercedes Moné Comments On Upcoming NJPW Match With KAIRI

Mercedes Moné will face KAIRI at NJPW Battle in the Valley

Speaking with New Japan Pro-Wrestling ahead of her IWGP Women's Title match with KAIRI on February 18, Mercedes Moné has admitted she has never been more excited or nervous about stepping inside the squared circle.

Moné stated:

"I've never been more excited, more nervous, which I never get nervous. But I'm so ready for this. I've been dreaming of this. And for it to be in the United States, in San Jose? I have so much history there. I've had the greatest matches there. So February 18 is going to be the same. I'm going to make sure that is the greatest women's match of all time and when I hold up my championship, oh, cute little KAIRI. I'm about to send KAIRI back to Japan and she can go back to Stardom. I'm about to take that title everywhere. Not just New Japan, everywhere."

Moné also acknowledged her history with KAIRI in WWE but she is ready to win the IWGP Women's Championship.

KAIRI and Mercedes Moné will go one on one for the title at Battle in the Valley on February 18. Other matches announced for the show include Jay White vs. Eddie Kingston and David Finlay vs. Bobby Fish. The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will also be on the line.

Moné made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4, attacking KAIRI following her IWGP Women's Title defence against Tam Nakano.
