Shingo Takagi Wants To Face Kenny Omega By The End Of 2023

Could the dream match happen in 2023?

If Kenny Omega is after a match with Shingo Takagi, the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion wants it to take place before the end of 2023, he revealed on his YouTube channel

"Kenny Omega, the US Champion, mentioned my name as a potential opponent, but time is running out if I keep saying, 'Let's do it someday.' If the fans want to see it and Kenny wants to fight, I want to do it before the end of the year," Shingo said (H/T to @yamanaka_syubrt for the translation).

Omega recently defeated Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 17 to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship. The Best Bout Machine noted following the win that he wants to defend the belt in the United States, as well as have a match with Shingo Takagi.

Shingo and Omega have never faced each other in singles action, although they have previously clashed in a tag team match at a joint Dragon Gate/DDT show in 2012. A match between them would surely draw eyes to NJPW as they are known for being two of the best wrestlers in the world.
