Update On Darby Allin Possibly Winning The AEW World Title From Bryan Danielson

Darby Allin winning the AEW World Title "at least strongly talked about"

Darby Allin has never held the AEW World Championship during his five years with the promotion but reports in recent weeks have noted that an AEW World Title reign for the 31-year-old is under consideration.

In an update, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Darby Allin winning the AEW World Championship has been "at least strongly talked about." One of the options for the possible title change is Dynamite Grand Slam on September 25 in Arthur Ashe Stadium, with Darby already scheduled to challenge for the AEW World Title courtesy of his Royal Rampage Battle Royale win earlier this year. The other option could see Darby Allin win the belt at WrestleDream on October 12 in a match in Darby and Danielson's home state of Washington.

Darby Allin has been signed to All Elite Wrestling since 2019. While he hasn't held the world title, Darby is a three-time TNT Champion and one-time AEW World Tag Team Champion with Sting. Darby Allin has unsuccessfully challenged for the AEW World Championship on three occasions, although he has not challenged for the belt since Double or Nothing 2023.

When Bryan Danielson loses the AEW World Championship, his full-time in-ring career will come to an end
