Chelsea Green confirmed through her Twitter account an injury she sustained at Wednesday night’s NXT tapings in Winter Park, FL. Green was working with Jessie Elaban in a dark match when she suffered a broken wrist.
Wrote Green, “Today I had the opportunity to wrestle for the first time at Full Sail for WWE NXT, after years of dreaming of it! Wow, it was everything I had imagined it would be!!! Of course, with this job comes occupational hazards. Unfortunately, I broke my wrist mid-match & will require surgery first thing tomorrow morning.”
Green signed with WWE in October 2018, making her debut at a live event that month, losing to Deonna Purrazzo. Her in-ring debut for the brand came several years after coming in seventh place on the most recent season of WWE Tough Enough.
Following Tough Enough, she went on to spend more than a year with Impact Wrestling, performing as the demented would-be bride Laurel Van Ness. In the role, Green won the promotion’s Knockouts title in November 2017, before losing it to Allie two months later.
