Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson Reportedly Turn Down Large Deal To Remain With WWE, Intend To Leave
Contracts expire in late-September
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson turned down "multi-million dollar deals" to remain with WWE, and are intending to exit after their current deals expire.
Johnson cites two sources in claiming that the duo's contracts expire at the end of September.
Johnson also notes that, "...the talk among wrestlers in the company is that the pair are determined to find their futures outside of World Wrestling Entertainment."
Gallows and Anderson first came together in November 2013 as partners in Bullet Club, competing in that year's World Tag League as a tandem, which they would ultimately win. The two would remain a steady team since then, winning the IWGP Tag Team titles on three occasions.
In early 2016, the two signed with WWE (where Gallows had previously worked between 2005 and 2010). They would go on to hold Raw's Tag Team titles for nine weeks in 2017, losing them to The Hardy Boyz in a four-way ladder match at WrestleMania 33.
Aside from that reign, and occasional spotlight in angles alongside longtime allies AJ Styles and Finn Balor, Gallows and Anderson have been used rather sparingly in their three years with WWE, particularly over the past couple years.
Since the start of September, they've only wrestled on television four times, and just once in 2019, losing to Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura on the February 5 episode of SmackDown.
