AEW Dynamite Wins Second Head-To-Head Meeting With WWE NXT

Two in a row...

By a fairly comfortable margin, AEW Dynamite on TNT (and for this week, TruTV as well) defeated NXT on USA Network in head-to-head viewership, though both shows saw considerable drops.

In total, AEW Dynamite drew 1,140,000 viewers on Wednesday night, down 19 percent from the 1,409,000 that the premiere episode did.

NXT, meanwhile, did a four-week low of 790,000 viewers, down 11 percent from the 891,000 from last week.

Dynamite aired on both TNT and TruTV, due to a possible conflict with Turner's coverage of the Major League Baseball playoffs. Had Game 5 between the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves on sister network TBS still been going after 8:37 PM EST, the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals game (which began at 8:37) would have aired on TNT until the Cardinals vs. Braves game concluded.

There ended up being no issue, as the Cardinals clinched their game at roughly 8:20 PM.

TNT's broadcast did 1,018,000 viewers, while TruTV added 122,000 to the total.

NXT, meanwhile, is down 389,000 viewers from its September 18 USA Network premiere (1,179,000), a 33 percent drop over the span of three weeks.

The 2.3 million combined viewers from Week 1 of the head to head was down to 1.93 million this week.
