It was revealed in September that WWE were not going to be continuing their ongoing relationship with Def Rebel, who have been behind WWE’s entrance themes for the last several years. This comes after it was reported that WWE were “very aware” of criticism towards Def Rebel and their music for WWE wrestlers. Per a recent report, WWE might very well have been interested in procuring Mikey Rukus, who has been the man behind many of AEW’s popular theme songs from day one.

Fightul Select have revealed that Mikey Rukus recently re-signed with AEW, which will keep him with the promotion for the foreseeable future. WWE sources reportedly reached out to Fightful, with it being confirmed that AEW and Rukus had reached an agreement in recent months. This suggests that WWE were keeping tabs on the contractual status of Rukus ahead of a change in direction for their music division.

The reports of WWE moving away from Def Rebel also came with news that the company were seeking to use more mainstream artists for their entrance themes in the future.
