Earlier this month, Taz confirmed reports that he would be taking some time away from AEW to undergo a total knee replacement. This led to him being written off AEW programming in an angle where he had been attacked in the parking lot by a mystery assailant. Taz confirmed his absence in a post on X.

“Unfortunately, I will be out for awhile. I’ll be having total knee replacement surgery very soon. Talk to you guys down the road.”

There was no timeframe provided on his absence from the AEW commentary desk, but he has now provided an update on his status on social media, speaking out after undergoing surgery.

Taking to X, Taz posted a video which showed graphic images of his leg post-surgery. This featured the vast number of staples needed to stitch up his leg, in addition to the heavy bruising suffered up and down his leg too. The end of the video stated that he was “Getting Stronger Everyday… Lots Of PT Work”.

This suggests the surgery was a success, with him now on the road to recovery.
