AEW Star Turns Babyface On Dynamite

An AEW star turned babyface on Dynamite

AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen 2023 saw a popular star turn babyface, for the time being at least.

Heading into Dynamite we knew that Don Callis would be talking with Chris Jericho, with Jericho ready to tell Callis his decision on his future and whether he would join Callis’ family. After being abandoned by the Jericho Appreciation Society on the August 9 edition of Dynamite, Jericho agreed to join Callis, with Don trying to hurriedly rush Jericho out of the ring and through the back for celebratory drinks.

Jericho noticed there was a covered painting in the ring, and unveiled a portrait of Callis holding Jericho’s severed head. Don admitted he anticipated rejection from Jericho, noting how ‘The Ocho’ was selfish and self-centred. Suddenly Konosuke Takeshita arrived to beat down Jericho, with Will Ospreay running in out of nowhere to assist in the beating.

After Jericho was bloodied from the glass-covered painting being smashed over his head, Sammy Guevara ran down for the save, with the ‘Spanish God’ the only one of the JAS to say he would stick by Jericho’s side but only if Jericho figured out what he was doing.

So for now it seems that Jericho is a babyface, but it remains to be seen if he can stick to it. For the near future, Jericho will have to stay focused, with The Ocho challenging Ospreay to a match at All In during a backstage segment on Dynamite. The match was made official later in the evening.
