AEW Suspends Sammy Guevara

Sammy Guevara suspended by AEW

All Elite Wrestling have suspended Sammy Guevara, according to a report from Fightful Select

Guevara is currently suspended from the promotion due to his No DQ Match against Jeff Hardy on the February 16 episode of AEW Rampage. The match taped on February 14 saw Hardy sustain a broken nose following a botched Shooting Star Press from Guevara that resulted in his leg landing across Jeff's face. Following the move, Guevara picked up Hardy and connected with the GTH to finish the contest.

Fightful Select have noted that concussion protocol was not followed after the botched Shooting Star Press which resulted in Guevara hitting the GTH. This shouldn't have happened under concussion protocol.

How long Guevara will be suspended from AEW is unknown. The former TNT Champion did work a No DQ Match against Powerhouse Hobbs on the February 24 edition of Collision but Guevara is now suspended.

Guevara was previously suspended in 2020 by AEW over past inappropriate comments about Mercedes Moné.

Jeff Hardy is yet to return to AEW TV since suffering the broken nose. Matt Hardy recently noted that Jeff was undergoing tests as his nose had multiple breaks.
