AEW Talent Teases Departure

An All Elite Wrestling talent could be set to exit the promotion.

Taking to Twitter, Shawn Spears posted a GIF which simply said "goodbye", fuelling speculation that he is on his way out of AEW. The tweet was quickly deleted before Spears posted another GIF, this time of Adam Sandler laughing. 

If Spears is leaving AEW ultimately remains to be seen. At the very least, he is expected to take a break from the promotion later this year as his wife Cassie Lee is pregnant. 

The Chairman has not appeared on AEW TV since he lost a Steel Cage Match to Wardlow on the May 25 edition of Dynamite, only days before Wardlow defeated MJF at Double Or Nothing 2022. 

Spears joined AEW back in 2019 and he was one of the promotion's first high-profile signings, debuting at Double or Nothing. He has featured in feuds against the likes of Cody Rhodes and Scorpio Sky, as well as The Pinnacle's programme with The Inner Circle.

Prior to his recent hiatus, he was Wardlow's accountabilibuddy while Mr Mayhem's issues with MJF continued to build.
