AJ Styles Details Meeting With Vince McMahon About WWE's Twitch Ban

WWE is still "working on something"...

The likes of AJ Styles, Mia Yim, Cesaro and Aleister Black & Zelina Vega all suspended their Twitch accounts at the end of October. This followed on from a WWE edict which stated the company would be taking over main roster Superstars' Twitch channels.

The edict was met with resistance in WWE and Zelina Vega was ultimately fired after she was vocal about maintaining her account on the live streaming platform.

AJ Styles noted during a recent interview with talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy that he, Sasha Banks and Xavier Woods had a meeting with Vince McMahon about the Twitch situation.

The two-time WWE Champion said: "Myself, Xavier Woods and Sasha Banks had a sit-down meeting in Connecticut with Vince about the situation and it was determined its intellectual property - this is [points to his face, smiling]. We do well as far WWE goes. If there is an opportunity to pay back that money we work hard for in different times, then we probably should.

"I was doing this long before the lockdown and the coronavirus. I was streaming and doing my thing, so I was always doing it on my time off, it wasn't during.

"So things happen. I wasn't happy about it. No one was. But, it is what it is. I'll handle it the way I have to. I'm a team player, he's [Vince McMahon] the captain. I'll follow his lead as far as Vince is concerned."

Styles later added: "Will it change? They're working on something as we speak. Will I be happy with it? Probably not [laughs]. But, the opportunity to stream in the future is wide open. I obviously have the equipment, I just don't have the opportunity right now."
