Andrade El Idolo Pulled From GCW Event Amidst WWE Return Rumours

Andrade El Idolo pulled from GCW

Andrade El Idolo won't be in action for Game Changer Wrestling this coming weekend.

GCW announced on social media that due to "circumstances out of control", Andrade has been pulled from No Compadre on Friday, January 12 at Thalia Hall in Chicago. El Idolo was set to go one-on-one with former ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham at the show. He has been replaced by Lio Rush.

Andrade's pro-wrestling future is currently uncertain. His contract with All Elite Wrestling expired at the end of 2023 and the former IWGP Intercontinental Champion announced he would be leaving the promotion. Andrade was expected to leave All Elite Wrestling, although his exit reportedly featured a possible "major disagreement" and was "less than pleasant."

Andrade finished up with AEW at Worlds End on December 30, putting over Miro on his way out. El Idolo also made a brief return to CMLL, losing to Volador Jr. in a high-profile match.

The expectation is Andrade will be returning to WWE, with his return said to be imminent at the end of the year. He previously wrestled for the company between 2015 and 2021 and Andrade's wife Charlotte Flair remains a top star in WWE.
