WWE NXT general manager Ava (formerly Ava Raine of the Schism stable) revealed that she has received death threats over her father's recent involvement in WWE programming.

Ava - real name Simone Johnson - is the daughter of The Rock, who recently made a surprise appearance on SmackDown and replaced Cody Rhodes as Roman Reigns' WrestleMania 40 opponent.

This booking decision has since been met with widespread fan backlash, including the hashtag #WeWantCody trending worldwide, and the live crowd at last night's WWE Raw chanting "Rocky sucks" during an in-ring segment featuring Rhodes.

However, some of the response appears to have gone too far, as Ava tweeted:

"Can ya’ll just leave me out of this ffs. I’m busy running a SHOW. Death threats over a situation I have nothing to do with…bffr. [be f***ing for real]"

Ava has since deleted her X/Twitter account.

Ava was last seen onscreen as part of Sunday's NXT Vengeance Day show, appearing in a backstage segment to promote the brand's upcoming events. She was recently made kayfabe general manager of NXT, acting as the day-to-day assistant of Shawn Michaels. Although a sinister heel as part of the Schism, Ava's new authority figure role appears to be as a babyface, chastising heels such as Lexis King and Dijak in recent weeks.
