Fans Chant 'Rocky Sucks' During WWE Raw

On last week's SmackDown, WWE sparked fan backlash by having Cody Rhodes refuse to challenge Roman Reigns for the main event of WrestleMania 40, instead bringing out The Rock to stare down the Tribal Chief. With mass discontent being voiced on social media (including the trending hashtag #WeWantCody) this rejection of Rock vs. Roman continued on last night's Raw episode.

Raw opened with a segment between World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and men's Royal Rumble winner Rhodes, implying a 'Mania showdown between the two. Again, fans did not appear enthused by the prospect of missing out on a rematch between Cody and Reigns, with those in attendance loudly chanting "Rocky sucks."

Rollins voiced surprise at hearing the chant, while on commentary, Michael Cole jokingly referenced the year 1996 - a time in The Rock's early career when he was roundly booed for portraying a smiling babyface.

The segment was interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who attacked Seth before being chased out of the ring by Cody. Rhodes went on to main event the episode, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in a bullrope match before being ambushed by McIntyre, who stared at the WrestleMania sign to close the show.
