AEW All In 2025 featured the notable first loss for Mercedes Moné in the company, as she fell to AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm after a hard fought back-and-forth contest. When it comes to the result of this match, it was reportedly the plan for Storm to win many months in advance.
Jon Alba responded to Ibou of Wrestle Purists on X, in which the latter noted that it had been expressed to him that this had been the plan for some time. Alba stated that he’d heard the same, revealing that the plan for Storm winning explains why AEW didn’t book it as a title vs. title match, with none of Mercedes Moné’s belts on the line.
Not only had Storm winning been the plan for a while, AEW had their eyes on booking this match for a long time before that too, per recent reports. In recent months, talk has been circulating on how long AEW had this match in the works, with some speculation over original plans for Athena to instead beat Mercedes Moné in the Owen Hart Cup. There has also been a lot of talk about Moné’s alleged “creative control” in AEW, something debunked by Tony Khan himself in the lead up to All In.
