Bushiroad Planning A Stardom/NJPW Double-Header For Wrestle Kingdom

Stardom and NJPW will be hosting major shows on the same day

Although Stardom and its wrestlers have been incorporated into recent NJPW Wrestle Kingdom events, it looks as though next year will have a different setup.

As noted by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Stardom and NJPW held a meeting on how to approach Wrestle Kingdom “weekend”, and instead of a joint show, they will both be hosting separate events on the very same day.

The idea will see Stardom host a full major show at the Tokyo Dome City Hall on January 4th 2023, which is very close to both the Korakuen Hall and the Tokyo Dome where Wrestle Kingdom will be held. Bushiroad will be hoping to still pull in big names for the show, with the hope that those who are attending Wrestle Kingdom will also show up for the Stardom event too, with it being held much earlier in the day.

Wrestle Kingdom will be headlined next year with a match between Sanada and Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Championship.
