Cain Velasquez Returning To AAA In December

The UFC legend returns to the ring

Former two-time UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez isn't done wrestling yet.

AAA announced during Saturday's Heroes Inmortales XIV card that Velaquez will be returning to the organization on December 4.

Velasquez's first opponent back has not yet been named.

Prior to Velasquez's short-lived WWE tenure, the heavyweight wrestled two matches for AAA in 2019. For his debut, Velasquez teamed with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown to defeat El Texano, Taurus, and Killer Kross at TripleMania XXVII in August.

Six weeks later, Velasquez teamed with Psycho Clown and Brian Cage to defeat Texano, Taurus, and Rey Escorpion at a card in New York City.

Velasquez shortly thereafter debuted on WWE SmackDown's FOX premiere, confronting old UFC rival Brock Lesnar moments after Lesnar's seven second WWE title win over Kofi Kingston. Velasquez had knocked Lesnar out in 2010 to capture his first UFC Heavyweight title.

The two faced off in a very short match at Crown Jewel at the end of October, with Lesnar winning. The match was greatly hampered by Velasquez working through a serious knee injury.

Velasquez wrestled only once more for WWE, teaming with Rey Mysterio to defeat The Good Brothers at a live event in Mexico City.

WWE later let Velasquez go as part of the "Black Wednesday" spate of releases.
