Cody Rhodes Gives "Honest Update" On AEW Video Game

It won't hit store shelves for a long time...

All Elite Wrestling fans have been hoping the young promotion will announce its first video game for some time but, so far, details have been thin on the ground. Cody Rhodes has previously teased the game will use the AKI engine, akin to WWF No Mercy, but AEW has reiterated that they will provide an update when they have something substantial to announce.

During a recent AMA with Bleacher Report, Cody Rhodes was again asked about the video game. The AEW EVP asked fans to be "extra patient" as the promotion wants to make the best possible game, but he admitted it will take time because of the nature of video game development.

The American Nightmare said: "I'll give the honest update: the AEW video game will be something all fans know about as we begin the process and as we move forward. If we were to make a very good game, which is our intention, it's going to take time. Game development is arduous, it's a very creative space, and we want to do it right. We will keep people updated, it won't come as a surprise, we want them to take the journey with us. Be extra patient so we can deliver."
