Cody Rhodes Vs. Jimmy Havoc Announced For Wednesday's AEW Dynamite

With Blood and Guts put on hold...

With the five-on-five Blood and Guts match on hold for the foreseeable future, Elite member Cody Rhodes will have a different match on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.

It was announced earlier on Sunday that Cody will go one on one with Jimmy Havoc. The two men previously wrestled each other in a no count-out, no disqualification match at an independent event in Georgia in April of 2017.

The match marks the first for Havoc on Dynamite since he was part of the Dynamite Dozen battle royal in November. Since then, his participation in AEW has solely been on Dark.

Rhodes was to have teamed with Kenny Omega, Adam Page, and The Young Bucks to face Inner Circle members Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz in "Blood and Guts" (a stand-in name for a classic War Games match) on this week's Dynamite. Instead, President Tony Khan announced on Friday that the match is being postponed, and will take place when the time is right.

Chris Jericho will instead have a confrontation with Matt Hardy on this week's broadcast. Previously announced for this Dynamite are a Lumberjack match pitting Luchasaurus against Wardlow, and a Parking Lot Brawl between Best Friends and The Lucha Bros.
