Creative Process For AEW's Death Rider's Storyline Revealed

A couple of months ago, it was suggested that the reigning AEW World Champion Jon Moxley had an element of creative control over his current direction in the company and the ongoings involved in the Death Rider’s hostile takeover storyline, which kick-started back at the AEW All Out 2024 PPV when the group attacked Bryan Danielson and turned heel. 

There has been some clarification on this front from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, who responded to a question regarding Moxley having creative control in AEW and whether or not Tony Khan would step in and change direction. It was rejected that Moxley was booking his own storyline, and instead it was revealed that RJ City works alongside The Death Riders, with talent having some input, much like across the rest of the roster and card. However, everything needs to get approved by Tony Khan ultimately, with Moxley not simply having free rein over his booking. 

Moxley is set to defend his AEW World Championship on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage against Powerhouse Hobbs, who won a Casino Gauntlet match this week to earn a title shot.
