'The Forbidden Door' Is Blown Wide Open
If there was a ‘phrase of the year’ award then ‘forbidden door’ would take it at a canter, so much so that I roll my eyes whenever I have to write it.
But the concept of ‘the forbidden door’ has made wrestling feel unpredictable again, and that is worth its weight in gold.
2021 has given us everything, from Bullet Club and CHAOS making their presence felt on IMPACT and Dynamite, to Satoshi Kojima, Jon Moxley, and Minoru Suzuki just wandering about the place battering people, just because they could.
My personal favourite ‘forbidden door’ crossing was when KENTA showed up in AEW to beat seven bells out of Moxley, and remind Kenny Omega that Bullet Club haven’t forgotten his betrayal.
As long as Omicron doesn’t bring the World to another standstill, then I can’t wait to see what 2022 brings.
