Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos had a trilogy of UFC bouts from 2011 until 2013 and Cardio Cain ultimately came away with the 2-1 series win following his victory in the rubber match.

Both men have since transitioned to professional wrestling, with Velasquez having made appearances in AAA and WWE, while Dos Santos will make his wrestling debut on the October 15 edition of Rampage alongside The Men Of The Year against The Inner Circle.

Speaking to ESPN, Dos Santos didn't rule out a fourth match with Velasquez, this time inside the squared circle.

"You know what, as soon as I start feeling good about that, I thought about that. Maybe we can have the fourth one. Cain Valesquez was trying to do this as well. You never know. I'm not going to set goals right now for me. I'm just on the wave and I want to enjoy everything and give the best of me to have good performances over there and whatever happens is going to be good," Dos Santos said.

American Top Team's Dan Lambert had a different idea, though, and he suggested Velasquez join them in AEW.

"I'll throw a possibility out there, maybe Cain Velasquez is a real old-school wrestling fan and instead of looking for a fourth fight with Junior, maybe he wants to join the good guys and help us smoke these idiots," Lambert remarked.

JDS then added: "That would be great, actually."

While he had been away from wrestling since his WWE release in April 2020, Velasquez will return to the ring on November 13 when he teams with Blue Demon Jr. against Dan Severn and Mariachi Loco at a Lucha Loco Libre show. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion will then return to AAA on December 4.
