Darby Allin Open To AEW Match With Sting Against Ric Flair & Andrade El Idolo

The Icon vs. The Nature Boy one more time?

Darby Allin has revealed he is open to teaming with Sting against The Icon's former on-screen nemesis Ric Flair and Andrade El Idolo.

The Nature Boy was recently released by WWE and he is expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling. Flair has also teased embarking on one final in-ring run and Darby Allin would be open to facing the 16-time world champion if he does come out of retirement.

After being asked by Metro about a possible tag team match with Sting against Flair and Andrade, Darby said: "Yeah, that'd be fun! Anything is possible, I feel. You've just gotta be patient and see what goes down, and where the wind takes you."

Allin also reflected on his partnership with Sting and mentioned they hang out together backstage.

"The first night he debuted, I went in his locker room and we start talking and stuff like that. I was showing him more videos of the stuff that I do, my promos and stuff like that, and he got to see my creative side out of the ring. He's the guy I really hang out with backstage. His dressing room, he's got his own little private dressing room and he says it's mine," Darby added.

"So, it's just me and him chilling and talking about a bunch of stuff. He's cool, we've got a lot more common than people think - goes beyond the face paint!"

Sting and Allin have been aligned since The Franchise returned to professional wrestling in late 2020. Sting has since stepped back in the ring alongside the former TNT Champion and they defeated 2.0 in a Tornado Tag on last night's edition of Dynamite.

Ric Flair's last professional wrestling match was actually against Sting. The pair went one on one for the final time at an IMPACT Wrestling TV taping on September 15, 2011.
