Drew McIntyre competed on last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in New Orleans, Louisiana, however before he opened up the show at the Smoothie King Center, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for The Scottish Psychopath.
McIntyre took to his Instagram account to showcase the fact that he needed fluid drained from his knee in order to go out and compete on SmackDown, even posting a video of the fluid actually being removed. It is unclear whether this suggests that there are long-term issues McIntyre is dealing with or if he’s suffering from an ongoing injury that could affect him in the coming months. Given that McIntyre is still scheduled to compete in the men’s Elimination Chamber match at the 2025 PLE, it doesn’t seem as though this knee issue will be troubling him to a serious extent enough to keep him from the ring.
On SmackDown, McIntyre lost to Jimmy Uso, getting rolled up. He proceeded to issue an attack on Uso after the match until he was finally stopped by officials. McIntyre’s WrestleMania plans have been the topic of discussion in recent weeks, with WWE reportedly aware of fan backlash at prospective plans, and ongoing talks reportedly taking place about how to book McIntyre for the show.
