Dutch Mantell: I Don't Think Vince McMahon Trusts WWE Talent

A host of talent have departed WWE in 2021

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell, known to some audience members as Zeb Colter, has highlighted the differences between his old employers and All Elite Wrestling, saying he doe not believe Vince McMahon actually trusts his roster.

WWE have released a host of names in 2021 and lost out on a handful of others, with the likes of Andrade, Malakai Black, Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole leaving WWE and signing for AEW.

Talent appears to be given more freedom with their matches, characters and promos in AEW and Mantell believes McMahon simply does not trust most of his roster enough to let them express themselves properly.

Speaking on Smack Talk, Mantell said: "All these ex-WWE guys are coming in. I don’t know because if it’s all ex-WWE guys, they can still have great shows. They showed you what they could do in WWE if they let them go with it.

But I don’t think Vince (McMahon) trusts talent. I mean he will probably let top talent say what they want to say, but he doesn’t trust, you know, the underneath brand. Because there’s no telling what they’ll say.

"I never liked the micromanaging when I was there. I dealt with it because I had no choice. You deal with it and try to get with it the best you can."
