Mark Henry had a simple response to Hulk Hogan being booed by professional wrestling fans in the United Kingdom: "He did that to himself."
Henry has been on a DJ tour of the United Kingdom in collaboration with Sweet Chin Disco in recent weeks. At a stop in Nottingham, England, Henry drew boos from those in attendance when he played Hulk Hogan's WWE theme, which prompted the former World Heavyweight Champion to turn off 'Real American.' Henry then said, "In the immortal words of The Iron Sheik, F*ck you Hulk Hogan" and switched to Carlito's 'Cool' WWE theme, much to the delight of fans in the venue.
Speaking with Ghost Bandit for Cultaholic, Henry addressed the boos for Hogan at his DJ set.
"If you looked at the stuff with Hulk Hogan, it went worldwide...Everybody heard the fact that the crowd booed him. I didn't boo, I just played his music, and I didn't go, 'Booo.' I didn't do none of that. I just hit *click* and got ready to blend it into something else, and went, 'Woah woah.' And I stopped and I was like, 'What is going on? Y'all don't like that?' 'No!' That's the world. He did that to himself. I mean, I'm just the DJ," Henry stated.
Hulk Hogan has proven to be unpopular with WWE fans in recent years and he was booed out of the Intuit Dome during the Netflix premiere of Monday Night Raw in January.
Past racist comments from Hogan were made public in 2015, which led to his removal from the WWE Hall of Fame before he was later reinstated. Hogan hasn't avoided controversy since then and he was pictured with two neo-Nazis in 2024. He also made a racist gesture towards Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 US presidential election.
Hogan maintains a presence on WWE TV as branding for his Real American Beer is displayed on the Raw ring mat. WWE became part owners of the beer company in January.
