Finn Balor Returns To WWE On SmackDown Brand

"The Prince" is back in blue

After nearly two years away from WWE's main roster, Finn Balor returned as part of the SmackDown brand on Friday night.

Balor interrupted an in-ring segment in which Sami Zayn continued to rail against the supposed conspiracy against him in WWE.

Zayn welcomed Balor back, only to try and attack him. Balor staved off the attack by dropkicking Zayn into the corner, and then hitting his Coup de Grace.

This was Balor's first time appearing on the main roster since losing to The Fiend at the 2019 SummerSlam. After a couple months off of TV, Balor moved to NXT, shortly after the brand debuted on USA Network.

Balor won his second NXT title on September 8, 2020, defeating Adam Cole in a match with no time limit to capture the vacant belt. He reigned with the gold for seven months before losing it to Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver on April 8.

Balor last wrestled for NXT on May 25, losing in a rematch to Kross.

In his seven years with WWE, Balor is a two-time NXT champion, two time Intercontinental champion, and the inaugural WWE Universal champion.
