Following on from an appearance at Bad Blood 2024 where Goldberg faced off with Gunther, it was soon announced that the WWE Hall Of Famer would finally be having his official retirement match in WWE in 2025, though the date and opponent was not revealed or finalised in any way.

Goldberg was slated to be at the recent episode of Monday Night RAW in Atlanta, perhaps to build to his farewell match, but this appearance did not end up happening. On his CarCast podcast, Goldberg spoke on the lengths he’s going to in order to get ready, claiming to be ‘literally’ busting his ass.

"I'm thinking, 'I'm doing all of this shit for one night.' I'm literally busting my ass. I'm up here in the garage, in the gym, every night… Granted, I don't work out like I used to. It's a 45-minute Jack LaLanne workout as opposed to the whole Goldberg days. I stretch for 45 minutes. I used to only stretch for ten (minutes), but now I have to stretch for an hour and ten because I'm so ancient."

We’re not sure how literally Goldberg is talking, and we hope that his ass is in perfect condition by the time he laces up the boots again.
