Hangman Page injured on AEW Dynamite

UPDATE: It has since been reported the situation was a work

Could one of All Elite Wrestling's top stars be set to miss the Revolution pay-per-view?

Hangman Page was in action on the February 21 episode of AEW Dynamite as he teamed with HOOK and Rob Van Dam against Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Brian Cage. During the closing stages of the chaotic affair, Samoa Joe looked to hit Page with a Muscle Buster but Hangman escaped the move, only to land awkwardly on his ankle.

Page immediately grabbed the ankle and rolled to the outside for the final moments of the match, with the contest ultimately coming to an end after Samoa Joe forced Rob Van Dam to pass out to the Coquina Clutch.

Page continued to hold his ankle on the outside after the match and he was shown during the broadcast first urging the cameraman to stop filming him before telling them "Don't shoot me" as the camera finally panned back to the ring.

Bryan Alvarez has since reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Page may have broken his ankle on Dynamite.

"He's got to have it looked at. Could be a broken ankle but it does appear to be a serious ankle injury and I guess we'll find out," Alvarez said.

Dave Meltzer further noted that Page was saying at ringside that he believes his ankle is broken.

"I heard from someone at ringside and they said like when he was on the ground right in front of him he was basically saying he thought his ankle was broken," Meltzer added.

Page is currently set to challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship at Revolution in a Three-Way also including Swerve Strickland. The show will emanate from the Greensboro Coliseum on March 3 and will host Sting's retirement match.
