Hiromu Takahashi Relinquishes The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship

The Time Bomb's reign comes to an end

Hiromu Takahashi officially relinquished the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship at today's Road To Castle Attack show at Korakuen Hall, bringing his fourth reign with the gold to an end.

Takahashi relinquishing the title was expected after he announced earlier in the week that he had sustained a left pectoral injury and would be on the shelf for six months. He held the championship for 51 days after reclaiming it from Taiji Ishimori at Wrestle Kingdom 15.

The Time Bomb was scheduled to defend the strap against El Phantasmo at Castle Attack and Hiromu asked BUSHI to take his place in the match during today's show. BUSHI likely won't be ELP's only opponent, though, as after regaining the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship from Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori, El Desperado declared he wanted the match in Osaka to be a three-way.

Following the Suzuki-gun member's promo, ELP laid out Despe with Sudden Death, but BUSHI ended the show standing tall after delivering a Code Breaker to Phantasmo.
