In a bizarre proclamation on Logan Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast, Hulk Hogan has compared himself to Chris Benoit and claimed professional wrestling fans still love Benoit.

While discussing fan reception to himself, Hogan stated: "If Chris Benoit can do the crap he did and the fans still love him, you know, they're very forgiving [laughs]. I've made some major mistakes in my personal life. They're very, very forgiving. They forgive you."

Chris Benoit murdered his wife Nancy and their son Daniel before he committed suicide in June 2007. Benoit's in-ring work remains respected by many fans but he is largely considered to be a horrific individual away from the ring.

Hulk Hogan has been no stranger to controversy over the past 10 years, with audio of him using the N-word multiple times to describe his daughter Brooke's then-boyfriend leaking in 2015. Hogan made another racist remark recently while discussing body slamming Vice President Kamala Harris and a meet-and-greet for his 'Real American Beer' led to Hogan taking a photo with a neo-Nazi. A former ambassador for 'Real American Beer' has also claimed they were fired because she was black.

Outside of criticising Kamala Harris, Hogan has been a prominent supporter of Donald Trump, the Republican Party nominee for president and a fellow WWE Hall of Famer.
